COACHING AND GO-RIDE

Spalding Cycling Club has seven British Cycling Activity Coaches. Simon Hare, Adam Ellis, Ian Fenson, Chris Peel, Stu Elderkin, Malcolm Smith and William Hare. All coaches have had CRB checks and are allowed to coach under the rules and regulation of British Cycling, the governing body of cycling. The club also has two welfare officers Sharon Fenson and Shane Norton who have attended the recognised Sports England children's welfare course. The club is a sports England Club mark accredited club.

Spalding C C holds bi-weekly coaching session from March-September, at the Castle Sports Complex field, 11am - 12.15pm. Go-ride cycling activities are aimed at 5 - 16 year olds. They are run in secure traffic free environments and are aimed at introducing young people into cycle racing.

All you need is a bike in good working order, a helmet and a parent to sign a consent form. Most sessions at Spalding consist of a mixture of skills based activities and racing.
All Go-ride sessions are run with the emphasis on having fun ! Many members take the skills they learn at Go-ride and compete in BMX racing, Mountain Biking and Cyclo-Cross.
